Corporate Giving

Thank you to our corporate partners for your generosity. Without your support, it would not be possible for Long Island Cares to do the work we do to help end hunger on Long Island.

Corporate Giving Makes for Corporate Heroes

Long Island Cares has been fighting hunger in our region since 1980 and the Long Island business community has a long history of corporate giving and making a difference. Long Island Cares gratefully acknowledges the many corporate and business partners that support our fight against hunger on Long Island. Their civic stewardship enables Long Island Cares to reach more Long Islanders in need than ever before. Their philanthropy, leadership on our Board of Directors and volunteerism reflect their commitment to being good corporate citizens.

To find out how your company can partner with Long Island Cares, contact Kaylin Peterson, Philanthropy Manager.

Two programs we have helped fund are “Hope for the Homeless” which provides emergency food and personal hygiene items to homeless individuals, and the Aspara’Gus’ Breakfast Food Truck, which distributes breakfasts to the thousands of children on Long Island experiencing hunger. Based in Hauppauge, Island Federal is committed to Long Island Cares as an organization making a real difference in our local community.

King Kullen logo

King Kullen, and its sister company Wild by Nature, have long supported Long Island Cares’ mission of feeding hungry Long Islanders. To support hunger relief efforts on Long Island, many King Kullen and all Wild by Nature stores participate in regularly scheduled food donations. Our management staff is trained to understand the foods safe for consumption and eligible for donation. Rather than disposal, food is picked up by Long Island Cares twice a week at participating stores.  In turn, nutritious food is distributed to hungry Long Islanders the same or next day. King Kullen and Wild by Nature’s commitment to reducing food insecurity on Long Island is evidenced in other ways, including our annual “Check Out Hunger” campaign, regular in-store food drives, and the volunteer efforts of many of our Corporate employees at the Long Island Cares warehouse.

Newsday Charities is investing in Long Island through grants to nonprofits that provide vital programs to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, protect kids from harm and provide youth educational opportunities. Our relationship with and support of Long Island Cares’ efforts are an integral part of that mission. We are extremely proud of the work Newsday Charities does, uniting the community in support of those who are less fortunate.

Along with providing safe and reliable power, community service is an important part of PSEG Long Island’s culture.
